In all honesty, I don't remember the last time I went strawberry picking. It's been a while. This happened to be Tom's first time picking berries. Just Nadine, Tom, and and I were going to go - but then we realized that with 3 kids and 3 adults - we wouldn't have anyone to pick berries if all went awry. Good thing my mom came.
Here she is giving Andrew {my nephew} a lesson in what type of berries to pick:
Y'all know that I'm a fan of the ergo carrier - I believe that this was the first time that I'd carried Simon on my back and I was surprised that I liked it more than carrying him on the front {I do have to confess that I was sore for almost a week from all the squatting with a 22lb baby}.
I passed strawberries back to him to make sure he didn't lose it since we were picking during normal napping hours. I love/appreciate that we can always use food as a distractor with him.
delicious little berries. We seem to have gone at just the right time.
As a hunter/gatherer - Tom took to picking pretty easily. He's a natural.
Tom allowed my mom to do some picking and entertained Andrew for a bit.
The loot {and Andrew finding a bug}.
Here are 3 of the adults with all the chillins.

And a family pic before we departed.
