southern void

Lately I've been doing something. I didn't even realize that I was doing it. I'm even kind of embarrassed about it. All of my friends can attest that I have a pretty eclectic music selection {or at least I think I do}. I like just about everything and always sought/seek out new music that people hadn't/haven't heard. I'm the type of person who will stop liking something because everyone else likes it {which is just dumb - but I don't like to be one of the masses}. My "eclectic" varieties, however, never included rap or country.

So it was about two weeks ago when I realized that 2 of the 6 saved stations on my car radio were country music. It dawned on me that I was listening to Trailer, I mean Taylor Swift's song "Ours", and that I was actually liking it. Then I realized, the reason why I'm liking country music all of a sudden is because I miss the south. It was an epiphany moment, kind of like when Cher realizes that she loves Josh in one of my favorite movies, Clueless {my friend, Lindsey, and I even pretended to be Cher and Dion in the 5th grade. We must have driven our teacher crazy because we were always reapplying our Smackers lip gloss and talking on our paper cell phones}.
I just wanted to clue you in on my realization so that the next time you get in my car and Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" comes on the radio you'll know better than to judge me. You'll know that I'm coping with the southern void in my life,
