school's out for the summer...

If you watched American Idol last night you saw the Idol version of "School's Out for the Summer;" I thought it was an appropriate song choice since yesterday was my last day! :) I'm happily sitting on the couch here in the a.m. and not in my classroom mentally preparing myself for the crazy day that often lies ahead. It was a good year - quite difficult at times - but a good year. I've learned a lot about how students respond and also how I greatly influence my students' attitudes. Next year will be much better and easier, and I'm looking forward to a fresh start with more knowledge in my noggin. But let's not get too crazy here - I still have about 60 days to enjoy doing absolutely whatever I want.

The team of teachers I teach with.

Our veggies are doing really well - our tomatoes are huge and on the brink of turning red. Maybe the first thing we'll make with them is Tom's delicious tomato pie. He found the recipe while listening to NPR. My sisters came to visit me this weekend. Of course, we put them to work on the 'farm,' and they helped us do some more weeding. We made some delicious pizzas while they were here.

The zinnias are popping and they're so beautiful. I probably look like a crazy lady standing at the end of our driveway - watching the flowers grow. They are beautiful. Right before they pop - the little flower looks like a gumdrop:

  1. Yay for being out of school!!! And your farm is awesome looking! Y'all are doing a great job!

  2. I love that one of the sisters weeding. :)

I love comments. It's like getting mail.
